NYCMobTours takes you into the thrilling heart of the New York Mob, a heart that beats loudly from 51st street and Broadway in Times Square down to Grand and Mulberry in the heart of Little Italy and everywhere in between. You can hear it in the canyons of powerful money-making Midtown, along the docks of the luxurious loft-filled West Side, the rock and roll gutters of the Lower East Side and even on the quiet, charming lanes of Greenwich Village.

Join us for a walk or a ride through friendly New York 'hoods to hear stories about wiseguys who ran these streets back in the day when they weren't so friendly. Unlike many other tours companies, NYC Mob Tour focuses on the tales and the legends a culture for which there is no authorized history. Whether you call it The Mob, The Mafia, The Syndicate, The Commission, La Cosa Nostra or simply Organized Crime, this "thing of ours" (as old world thugs called it) is one of the world's greatest secret societies. Through a rich blend of documented fact, neighborhood legend, theories and amazing crime photography, your local experts on all things Gangster related, will bring to life the many tales of the darkest legacy of the American Dream.

With a whole lot more "style" than "substance" when it comes to the gangster life, Gideon's knowledge of Mob culture came first from Goodfellas, The Godfather, The Sopranos, and films from the golden age of cinema starring Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney. After devouring a library worth of Mob history, Gideon teamed up with Patrick Smith in 2011 to found the NYC Gangster Tour.

A veteran of the NYC Tourism industry, Gideon hails from The Levys' Unique New York, New York's first family of tour guides. If given a choice to be a major player in the crime world or the tourism world, Gideon would delightfully choose the latter.

He lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with his girlfriend Danielle, and his dog Betty. And for a nice Jewish boy, he makes a mean marinara sauce.

Patrick Smith is a native Manhattanite who hails from a long line of journalists and media professionals. After a plush boyhood, the street culture of late 20th century Gotham led him astray, and for Patrick that meant a headlong immersion into the street life.

Like many of his peers, Patrick eventually found himself a not-so-well  received guest of the State. More than once. A far cry from all the places he was supposed to be.

He carried his weight, learned a lot and woke up.  With an unlikely blend of academic bona fides and genuine street cred, he recently appeared at length in Secret Societies episode of "Love-Lust" on the Sundance channel, has written at length for ESPN and with Gideon Levy, a seasoned NYC Tour Guide, founded the NYC Gangster Tour in 2011.

Patrick lives with his wife, Claudia, and young son Aidan in the East Village.
